COURSE DESCRIPTION

India loves shopping online. A customer can compare products, check the best deal, pay by online channels and get the products delivered at their doorstep. Hence, it\'s no surprise that online shopping is projecting a 30% year on year growth in quite a few verticals.

As shopping has gone from offline to online, marketing of products online has become one of the most lucrative career options.

Shopping ads is a feature available on popular online marketing platforms like Google and Facebook. An ecommerce website manager can take advantage of this ad feature to make ads that list the products from the website directly in the ad. You can think of these ads as an extension on the main website.Let’s try and understand how an online marketing campaign works for consumer products.

Product

Like the website these ads have key variables like the product title, product price, discount, product image & product landing page. How do these ads get created? The simplest way to create these ads is to add the product data to an Excel sheet and upload the sheet in the form of a feed to the marketing platform where the products are to be promoted. Once the feed is uploaded it has to be linked to the Campaign/adgroup from where the products get promoted.

Workflow

A manager can select and add the keywords which are closely related to the products that are to be marketed. The campaign setup can be tested by doing a test run on a small budget. Once the user searches for a keyword part of the campaign the product should be listed on Google search. On a platform like Facebook,the product listing will be displayed to the users who have a similar interest. Once the campaign data shows impressions it means the campaign is set up successfully.
